From the Headmistress 's Desk

Dear Students, Staff, Parents and Well Wishers,

I share your honour of becoming a part of the SEM family. Legacies for such institutions do not develop easily or overnight. The drive for excellence permeates deeply the school culture.

As the headmistress of the school, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our principal Rev Br Hector Pinto and senior leadership team of CCBI for their vision and commitment. Their innovative ideas and involvement in each school activity truly makes us what we are. I would like to thank the entire staff for their professionalism and consistent commitment in building and maintaining this excellent culture. I thank the parents and well-wishers for their constant support and thank my dear students and alumni for their diligent work and constant engagement and Semite conduct – it is you who make this institution!

Teaching and learning are the core activities of a school. With focus on promoting a high level of learning culture – right amount and quality of resources and focused effort has been allocated to furnish an inviting learning environment. Apart from striving for advancement in academic achievement, the school also nurtures students with the right attitude and good values. The school offers countless opportunities for students to take part in various co-curricular activities to broaden their exposure and insight. It hones up their skills to play team roles as well as leadership roles while developing discipline and resilience. We encourage each of our students to be the best they can be.

The purpose of education is not limited to storing the content of books in your mind anymore. With intelligence getting into the devices, easy retrieval of information and automated processes make the upcoming life more convenient. Career choices are now more unique and challenging. Let us develop our future citizens with universal values and global understanding.

Let me reaffirm - being an Edmund Rice School we welcome diversity and cherish each individual regardless of anything. At St. Joseph’s we recognise the uniqueness of each individual in caring communities where holistic development of each child is nurtured in a positive and safe environment.

The spirit of SEM is deeply rooted in our minds - we resolve to take this journey of building future citizens of this world together to make it a better place. I welcome the contribution of all stakeholders in this journey. It is always our earnest endeavour to keep looking for any interventions that may be needed. Do reach out to me without any hesitation for anything that we can change for the better.
