THE POWER OF IMAGINATION
Venue: School
Auditorium Class: 2A
Date: 29th
September 2025
The students
of Class 2A presented a lively and thought-provoking assembly on the theme “The
Power of Imagination” in the school auditorium on 29th September 2025. The programme
began with the anchors warmly welcoming the Principal, Brother S. George,
Brother L. Colaco, the Coordinator, Mrs. S. Sah, respected teachers, and fellow
students. They introduced the theme by reminding everyone that imagination is a
key to creativity, discovery, and innovation.
The assembly
was then led into prayer by Jared, who asked for God’s blessings to guide the
young minds towards kindness, joy, wisdom, and creativity. This was followed by
a hymn, “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” sung melodiously under the guidance
of the music teacher, Mr. P. Roy, setting a reverent and cheerful tone for the
morning.
The
highlight of the event was a captivating skit titled “Garv’s Imagination
Station.” The play followed Garv, a young child, who discovers through his
grandfather that imagination can open the doors to incredible adventures. The
role of Grandfather was beautifully enacted by Jared, who guided Garv through
the journey of imagination. The audience was then transported into magical
scenes—
·
In Space, the Astronaut was played by Manan, while the
Alien was performed by Kavyansh.
·
In Fairyland, the Fairy was played by Anas and the
Unicorn by Manit, bringing sparkle and grace to the performance.
· In the Inventor’s Lab, the Scientist was enacted by Gaurav,
alongside the Robot, played by Divij, adding a fun and futuristic touch.
Each role
was played with confidence and enthusiasm, and the costumes, props, and music
further enhanced the imaginative journey. The skit concluded with Garv realizing
that imagination is truly the key to creating wonders. After the skit, a group
of students came forward holding beautifully decorated placards and shared
inspiring quotes about imagination. Their words, such as “Imagination is the
beginning of creation” and “Dream big, imagine more, do better!” echoed
strongly with the theme of the assembly and left the audience with much to
reflect upon.
At this
point, Ms. M. DaCosta, the teacher in charge, addressed the gathering with a
heartfelt speech. She reminded the students that imagination is not something
to be left behind in childhood but something to be nurtured throughout life.
She explained that without imagination, the world would appear no more than a
black-and-white film. Every great creation—airplanes, buildings, films, and
even scientific discoveries—was once a product of someone’s imagination. She
encouraged the children to never let go of their ability to imagine, for
imagination is the foundation of reality. The assembly reached its grand finale
with a vibrant dance performance to the energetic song “Can’t Stop This
Feeling.” The students were divided into groups representing imaginative
worlds: astronauts and aliens showcased space moves, fairies and unicorns
twirled gracefully, while scientists and robots added a funky, mechanical
flair. The colourful costumes and enthusiastic performance filled the
auditorium with cheer and excitement.
Finally,
Principal Brother S. George shared his thoughts with the gathering. In his
address, he praised the students for their enthusiastic and creative
performances and expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the teacher in
charge. He fully supported Ms. DaCosta’s message, reminding the children that
imagination is the spark behind all progress and innovation. He urged them to stay
curious, think boldly, and continue nurturing their creativity in every aspect
of life.
The assembly
concluded with the anchors thanking the audience and encouraging everyone to
carry the spirit of imagination with them into their daily lives.
In essence,
the assembly by Class 2A was a remarkable celebration of creativity, teamwork,
and talent. It successfully conveyed the message that imagination has the power
to shape dreams into reality and to transform the ordinary into the
extraordinary.
